An Emotional Farewell for “King Félix,” Twins Hit 300 and Rookies Play Dress Up

Forever the King

“King Félix” Hernández took the mound for the final time in a Mariners’ jersey.

When manager Scott Servais came out to get Hernández in the sixth the emotions were too much. “King Félix” wasn’t the only person to shed a few tears last night.

At the end of the day “King Félix” said goodbye the only way he knew how: with the people who adored him over the past 15 years.

1939 – The White Sox hosted the first “Day-Night” doubleheader against Cleveland. For the first time, fans were charged separate admission for each game. Chicago lost both games.
