Phillies prospect Daniel Brito wins MiLB Rawlings Gold Glove Award

On Monday, Minor League Baseball announced the winners of the 2018 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards® for defensive excellence.
Among the nine players honored was second baseman Daniel Brito of the Philadelphia Phillies organization.
Brito, 20, signed with the Phillies as a free agent out of Ciudad Guyana, Venezuela, on July 14, 2014. MLB Pipeline ranks Brito the #12 prospect in the Philadelphia organization at the end of the 2018 season.
According to the MiLB release, “Brito recorded a .988 fielding percentage in 116 games, the highest mark among second basemen in Minor League Baseball. The 20-year-old handled 418 total chances in 92 games for Class A Lakewood, and 101 more in 24 games for Class A Advanced Clearwater, helping turn 78 double plays across the two levels.”
Brito is the only international free agent signee to be named a winner this season. You can read the entire roster here.
