Reyes’ difficult road strongack to strongig leagues

Two consecutive season-ending injuries would be enough of an uphill climb for any pelotero. For St. Louis prospect Álex Reyes, that was only half his battle. Reyes’ daughter, Aleyka, had to battle Neuroblastoma after his first injury. At seven months old, Aleyka underwent surgery and had a tumor removed. Reyes’ path back has included hurdles many others could never imagine.

Martínez returns to Seattle

It’s been a little over a week since Edgar Martínez was elected into the Hall of Fame. On Tuesday, Martínez returned to the place where he played his entire Hall of Fame career, Seattle. Martínez walked into T-Mobile Park where Mariners employees cheered on. It was a party 10 years in the making.

Mejia signs with Red Sox

Jenrry Mejia, who was allowed back into baseball after a “lifetime ban” for three positive drug tests, signed a minor league deal with the Boston Red Sox. If Mejia makes Boston’s 40-man roster, he would be paid $625,000.
