Mixed reaction to Players Weekend
Major League Baseball introduced the jerseys and caps for Players Weekend. Our friend Polo Ascencio was one of many who weren’t thrilled with this year’s “color” choices.

Colorful Alebrijes
The jerseys for Minor League Baseball’s Copa de la Diversión reside on the opposite end of the color scale from the Players Weekend jerseys. Here are the uniforms for the Modesto Nuts, or los Alebrijes, from a recent Copa game.

Get better soon!
We’re sending good thoughts and prayers to Phillies legend Tony Taylor as he recovers. The Cuban infielder spent 19 years in the big leagues, 15 of which were in Philadelphia.

Out of position
Injuries have forced a few players to spend time out of position lately. For the first time in four years Albert Pujols was at the hot corner.
