A rainout in the Bronx, MLB celebrates Spirit Day and Edgar celebrates an anniversary

Blame it on the Rain
There was not baseball in the Bronx last night. As our friend Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com shared, it was pouring all day.
Spirit Day
You’ll notice that Major League Baseball and team social handles will have a different look today. Thursday is Spirit Day. MLB is taking a united stand against bullying by “going purple” to show support for LGBTQ youth. They’ll be using #MLBSpiritDay on Twitter.
Thankful Cardinals
As the Cardinals start the unfortunate transition to golf season, a few of their players shared their appreciation for 2019’s success. Marcell Ozuna is a free agent this winter but wants to return to St. Louis in 2020.

2005 – In Game 5 of the NLCS, Albert Pujols hit a stunning three-run home run off Brad Lidge in the 9th inning, giving the Cardinals an eventual 5-4 victory. The Astros were one out away from the franchise’s first World Series at home.
1971 – Roberto Clemente of the Pittsburgh Pirates capped an incredible World Series by belting a home run in Game 7 against Mike Cuellar of the Baltimore Orioles. Clemente was named Series MVP after hitting .414.
