Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit two home runs and a double with five RBI on Thursday night. Whenever you’re on a list with Hall of Famers like Al Kaline and Mel Ott you’ve done something special.

He becomes the second youngest hitter (20 years and 138 days) in major league history to hit 2+ HR, double, and drive in 5+ runs in a single game.
The youngest being Mel Ott (20.109 and 20.112).

Reyes feeling at home
Cleveland had a special place in Franmil Reyes‘ heart before he was traded to the Indians.
Franmil Reyes already has a tie to the Cleveland area. He said he met his wife at a game here while his was in the Minors, playing against Lake County. When he heard the news he was coming to Cleveland he immediately told her, “It’s crazy, we came back to where we started.”

1985 – Ozzie Guillén scored from second on an infield hit by Luis Salazar in the 11th inning to give the White Sox a 6-5 win over the Yankees. The Yankees had two runners thrown out trying to do what Guillén successfully accomplished in the game.
1972 – Houston’s Cesar Cedeno hit for the cycle in a 10-1 win over the Reds.
1970 – Trailing 6-3 in the bottom of the ninth, Tony Taylor hit the first “ultimate grand slam” in the history of the Phillies franchise.
1966 – Ozzie Virgil drove in three runs and Juan Marichal earned his 17th victory out of the bullpen as the Giants beat the Mets 5-4. It was Marichal’s first relief appearance of the year.
