5 Cuts: Yadier Molina

An all-around MVP, Yadier Molina loves home cooking, tattoos and music. When asked about his favorite artists, he named not one, not two, but nine, tracing a wide arc across the Latin music genre, from El Gran Combo to Grupo Manía to Farruko. There’s a difference between clave and rap. Yadi knows.

On the field, Molina is enjoying a great start to the year. The MVP of Pool F, he helped lead Team Puerto Rico to the Championship game against the United States at the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

And he just signed a three-year, $60-million contract extension with the St. Louis Cardinals, most certainly ensuring that he’ll end his career with the only MLB organization that he’s ever known. That’s Yadi, all about legacy and loyalty.
