National Radio Day: Jaime Jarrín’s 61 years of Dodgers baseball
By Tab Bamford
On Aug. 20 we celebrate National Radio Day. Radio continues to play an important role in how fans enjoy the games of their favorite team.
Baseball – perhaps more than any other sport – lives through the artistic words of legendary radio voices. One of the greatest to ever sit before a mic is Jaime Jarrín, the iconic voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers. For 61 years he has called Dodgers games in Spanish.
Earlier this season Jarrín joined us in the La Vida Baseball Studio for an emotional conversation about baseball, family and loss.
